Growing up, I always dreamed of learning to play the drums, but I never had the chance to really dive into it. So, to connect that old passion with my current one, I thought it would be incredible to photograph a jazz drummer, E.K. Ellington Scott.

E.K. grew up in the church, and I loved the idea of capturing him drumming in an empty church. He once told me that when he plays, it feels like he's playing for an empty church, and that space helps him think clearly. It just felt like the perfect setting to bring his story to life through my photography.
